The Garfield Show is an animated TV series based on the Garfield comic strip created by Jim Davis. In season 3, episode 25 titled "It's About Time," Garfield and his friends find themselves in a race against time as they try to save their neighborhood from being destroyed.
The episode begins with Jon, Garfield's owner, receiving a notice that their neighborhood is set to be destroyed in order to make way for a new highway. Jon is devastated and turns to Garfield for comfort. Garfield, being the quick thinker that he is, comes up with a plan to save the neighborhood by trying to convince the mayor to change his mind.
As Garfield and his friends begin their campaign to save the neighborhood, they realize that they are running out of time. The mayor has set a deadline for the demolition crew to start their work, and they only have a few days left to change his mind. Garfield and his friends try everything they can think of to make the mayor see the error of his ways, but nothing seems to work.
Just when it seems like all hope is lost, Garfield has an idea. He remembers an old inventor who lived in their neighborhood many years ago. This inventor was famous for creating a time machine that could transport people back in time. Garfield and his friends set out to find this inventor's old house, hoping to find the time machine and use it to travel back in time.
After a long and perilous journey, Garfield and his friends finally stumble upon the inventor's old house. They search high and low for the time machine but cannot find it anywhere. Just as they are about to give up hope, they discover a hidden passage in the basement that leads to a secret laboratory.
Inside the laboratory, Garfield and his friends find the time machine. They are hesitant to use it at first, but they know that this is their only chance to save their neighborhood. They quickly jump into the time machine and set the dial for the year 1955.
As they travel back in time, they realize that changing the past is not as easy as they thought it would be. They meet the inventor and try to convince him not to create the time machine, but their efforts are in vain. They also discover that their actions in the past have unforeseen consequences in the present.
Despite the obstacles they face, Garfield and his friends persevere. They continue to try and find a way to save their neighborhood, even if it means going back and forth in time. Through their journey, they learn the true meaning of friendship and the importance of standing up for what you believe in.
In the end, Garfield and his friends return to the present day, exhausted but victorious. They have saved their neighborhood from destruction and have learned a great deal about themselves in the process. The mayor is impressed by their efforts and decides to spare the neighborhood. Jon is overjoyed and thanks Garfield for his help, knowing that he couldn't have done it without him.
