Ep 1. Welcome to the Furchester

Welcome to the Furchester Hotel! This colorful, chaotic, and cozy hotel is the home of Elmo, Phoebe, Funella, Furgus, Cookie Monster, and resident bellhop, Harvey P. Dull. Episode 1 is deemed as the first introduction to the hotel's zany and quirky atmosphere that the show is known for.

The Furchester Hotel's one goal is to provide their guests with the best service they can offer, but when the staff misplaces a guest's luggage, they need to work together to find it. Oblivious Funella and her husband, Furgus run the place while trying to handle a constant stream of bizarre and demanding guests. A single customer can request the delivery of three surfboards, two pineapples, and a literal elephant, in addition to being served hot cocoa. The couple later struggles with understanding the crazy demands of the guests that come to stay in their hotel.

The show introduces the family friendly muppet, Elmo who is on vacation at the hotel with his friend, Phoebe. The duo acts as the viewer's eyes and ears, allowing for an interactive watching experience. They try to help the hotel's staff with the guest requests and they learn about the hotel along the way. As the new guests arrive, the chaos in the hotel escalates, leaving the staff members scrambling to keep up with their demands. A giant chicken, an odd-looking sea monster, and an impatient yeti are just some of the wacky guests who check into the Furchester today.

After a sudden accident, a guest loses sight of his bright yellow suitcase, the hotel staff and guests needs to rely on loyalty and teamwork to try and find the misplaced luggage. Harvey, the bellhop who manages the hotel's front desk, tries to search the hotel for the misplaced suitcase. Meanwhile, the guest is becoming more and more agitated waiting for access to his luggage. Elmo and Phoebe accompany Harvey to investigate and help out with the search. They search high and low including under beds, in closets, and behind doors, but the suitcase is nowhere to be found.

While the team continues to look for the lost luggage, the guests get anxious. The crazy demands seem too much for the staff, who go to great lengths to please the guests. The group's search continues until the wrong luggage is identified mistakenly. The mistaken luggage search causes more hiccups and humor for the Furchester team. After a few comical mishaps, the wrong luggage is taken to the irritated guest. The customer quickly points out that the luggage was in fact not his. The team starts over and the guests begin to leave without their belongings feeling discouraged, but Elmo spots something unusual.

Elmo recognized the box showing in a picture of one of the missing guests and quickly led the team to the right luggage. The Furchester hotel saved the day as they finally find the missing yellow suitcase, marking it as small victory for the team. They return the luggage to their guest and receive a full thank you from the relieved man. The episode ends in cheers and celebration for all parties involved.

The Furchester Hotel is a hilarious and enjoyable family series, executing its every episode with wacky humor, great comedic timing, and some extremely catchy songs. The first episode, Welcome to the Furchester offers excitement, fun and an excellent introduction to the characters, the challenges they face, and their ability to overcome them, with teamwork. Elmo and Phoebe bring a refreshing and fun addition to the show, making the show not only a muppet favorite but fun for all ages.
