Will's attitude towards school takes a nosedive when he meets a successful, educated man named Marcus at the country club. Marcus makes a remark that upsets Will, and the two get into a heated argument. Marcus exposes how little Will knows about black history and the importance of education in the black community, causing Will to question his own priorities. Meanwhile, Carlton is nominated for the student body presidency and is determined to win the election at any cost, even if it means resorting to dirty tactics. With the election approaching, tensions rise between the two cousins as they both try to prove their worth in different ways. The episode explores the theme of education and the value of learning, as well as the complications that arise when personal ambition takes precedence over integrity.
