Fred and Barney are out golfing one day when Fred accidentally chips his tooth. After a visit to the dentist, Fred is fitted with a gold tooth, but soon becomes obsessed with it and flaunts it to everyone. Meanwhile, Wilma and Betty enter a baking contest and employ the help of a young girl to assist them in making their entry, a gingerbread house. However, they soon realize that the girl is trying to cheat by stealing their recipe. Wilma and Betty enlist the help of the Tooth Fairy, who happens to be a friend of theirs, to help them catch the girl in the act.

As Fred continues to show off his gold tooth, he becomes increasingly arrogant and even loses his job as a result of his behavior. Wilma and Betty try to intervene, but they are unsuccessful. However, when Fred accidentally swallows his gold tooth while drinking a milkshake, he finally realizes the error of his ways and humbly returns to his old job. Meanwhile, Wilma and Betty win the baking contest with their fully edible gingerbread house, and teach the young girl a lesson about the importance of honesty.

Throughout the episode, there are many humorous moments and themes that are common in The Flintstones, such as the use of prehistoric animals as technology, the classic "wife vs. husband" dynamic between Wilma and Fred, and the importance of friendship and honesty. The Tooth Fairy character adds a whimsical and magical element to the story, and provides a fun contrast to the more grounded themes of the episode.

Overall, "Nothing But the Tooth" is a classic episode of The Flintstones that showcases the show's signature humor, creative storytelling, and memorable characters.
