Ep 2. Flash of Two Worlds
- October 13, 2015
The Flash season 2 episode 2, "Flash of Two Worlds," picks up some time after the first episode of the season. Barry Allen (aka The Flash) is still dealing with the aftermath of defeating the evil speedster Zoom, and struggling to come to terms with the fact that his father, Henry Allen, has left Central City yet again.
But while Barry's personal life is in disarray, Central City itself is still facing threats from all sides. In this episode, we see an armored bank robber causing chaos downtown, and a new metahuman with the power to control metal wreaking havoc at a nearby university.
As Barry and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs scramble to deal with these new threats, they receive a surprise visitor: Jay Garrick, a speedster from another parallel Earth. Jay explains that he has come to warn them about a deadly new villain named Zoom, who is an even greater threat than the Reverse-Flash that they faced last season.
Jay also reveals that in his world, which he calls Earth-2, Barry Allen is not known as The Flash, but rather as the comic book character that inspired his alter ego's name. This revelation sets up an ongoing plotline for the season, as Barry and Jay explore the concept of parallel universes and the idea that there are infinite possible versions of reality.
Meanwhile, the team must work together to stop the armored bank robber and the metal-controlling metahuman, both of whom turn out to be more dangerous than they initially appear. And while they succeed in their mission, they also uncover a new mystery: both criminals had been affected by a mysterious energy source that seems to be linked to the larger threat of Zoom.
As the episode comes to a close, Barry reflects on the strange new developments in his life and the fact that he is not alone in his powers. And as he gears up to face the looming threat of Zoom, he knows that he will need all the help he can get.
