Ep 10. Potential Energy
- January 19, 2016
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is back in Central City after his Christmas excursion, but he can't seem to shake his looming sense of uncertainty. After defeating the evil Zoom at the end of last season, Barry has been struggling to regain his confidence, and the dark, brooding hero we saw last year is still very much present.
In this episode, entitled "Potential Energy," Barry takes a moment to reflect on the state of his life. He's holding on to his love for Iris (Candice Patton) and his desire to be with her, but he's conflicted about how to proceed. Meanwhile, Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) strike newest plan to get rid of the Flash.
Barry and his friends are further thrown into chaos when Linda Park (Malese Jow) returns to town. This time, she brings her new boyfriend, Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), with her. Not only is Barry still coming to terms with his feelings for Iris, but he's also not sure how to navigate his interactions with Wally -- especially when he discovers that Wally has started to display abilities that are eerily similar to the Flash's own powers.
As if that weren't enough, Barry is also tasked with stopping the latest villain to hit Central City: The Turtle. This cunning adversary has the ability to slow down time, making him almost impossible to catch.
As the episode unfolds, Barry continues to grapple with his own emotions, trying to figure out how he can balance his love life with his superhero responsibilities. And, as always, there are plenty of high-stakes action scenes and tense showdowns to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Ultimately, "Potential Energy" is a thrilling episode that explores the complex relationships and conflicting desires that drive Barry Allen's character. Whether you're a longtime fan of The Flash or a new viewer just discovering this superhero franchise, this episode is sure to keep you guessing and leave you wanting more.
