The First 48 is a documentary crime show that follows homicide detectives in the critical first 48 hours of a murder investigation. Season 7, episode 9 is titled "Lured In/Disaster."

The episode follows two separate cases in two different cities. The first case takes place in Memphis, Tennessee, where detectives are called to the scene of a shooting that has left a young man dead. The victim is identified as 20-year-old Marcus Bracken, and his body is found in the passenger seat of a car parked on the street. Detectives learn that Bracken had been lured to the scene by someone he had been communicating with on his cell phone.

Detectives immediately begin canvassing the area and speaking to witnesses. They find surveillance footage from a nearby gas station that shows the suspect's vehicle leaving the scene. The detectives work to identify the make and model of the car, as well as the license plate number. They also track down the cell phone number that Bracken had been communicating with. The phone number leads them to the suspect, who is quickly apprehended and brought in for questioning.

During the interrogation, the suspect denies any involvement in the murder and claims that he wasn't even in the area at the time of the shooting. But the detectives have evidence that contradicts his story. They continue to press him for information, and eventually, he cracks and confesses to the crime. He reveals that he had been hired by someone else to carry out the murder, and he provides the names of the mastermind behind the plot. With this new information in hand, the detectives work to bring in the other suspects involved in the murder.

The second case takes place in Dallas, Texas, where detectives are called to the scene of a house fire. When they arrive, they find a body inside the burned-out building. The victim is identified as 43-year-old Laura Grillo, the owner of the residence. Detectives learn that Grillo had been involved in a dispute with her estranged husband, who was upset about their pending divorce.

Detectives work to gather evidence at the scene of the fire and look for any clues that might lead them to the suspect. They also interview friends and family members of the victim to gather more information about her life and relationships. During their investigation, they uncover some disturbing details about Grillo's marriage and her relationship with her husband.

As the investigation progresses, detectives learn that Grillo's husband had taken out a large life insurance policy on her just weeks before the fire. They also discover that he had a history of violence and had been arrested for assaulting her in the past. These new developments strengthen their case against him, and they work to gather enough evidence to bring him to trial.

Overall, "Lured In/Disaster" is a suspenseful and gripping episode that showcases the hard work and dedication of homicide detectives. Through their careful investigation and attention to detail, they are able to solve two complex murder cases and bring the perpetrators to justice.
