About Face/Backyard Murder is the ninth episode of the sixth season of the true-crime documentary series, The First 48. In this episode, viewers are taken inside two separate homicide investigations that took place in different states in the United States.

The first case is the murder of 48-year-old Henry Mitchell in Memphis, Tennessee. Mitchell, a father of five, was found dead in a vacant lot, shot multiple times. Detective Kevin Helms and the homicide team were tasked with solving his murder. They began by interviewing Mitchell's friends and family, hoping to find any clues that could lead them to a suspect.

After learning that Mitchell was known to sell drugs in the area, the detectives focused their attention on the drug trade. They used surveillance footage to identify a suspect and put him under surveillance. The suspect was eventually arrested and brought in for questioning. Through questioning, the detectives were able to gather enough evidence to charge him with Mitchell's murder.

The second case featured in this episode took place in Houston, Texas, where 33-year-old Victor Wright was found dead in his backyard. His wife, Rachel, told the responding officers that she had heard a noise outside, went to investigate, and found her husband dead. The police immediately suspected foul play and launched an investigation.

Detectives Keith Crawford and Barrett Doss led the investigation and began by interviewing Rachel and anyone who had been in contact with the couple in the days leading up to the murder. The detectives quickly learned that Victor and Rachel had been arguing frequently, and Victor had been talking about divorce.

They also discovered that Rachel had been having an affair with a coworker and had tried to persuade the man to kill Victor. The detectives arrested Rachel and her lover for the murder of Victor Wright.

The episode highlights the tireless and methodical work of homicide detectives who leave no stone unturned in their quest for justice. From the initial crime scene investigation to the interviews with family and friends, to the eventual arrest and conviction of the suspects, viewers are taken along for the ride as these investigators piece together the evidence to solve these heinous crimes.

Throughout the episode, viewers are given a glimpse into the day-to-day work of homicide detectives, the challenges they face, and the mental fortitude required to solve cases that often involve the most heinous acts of violence. The First 48 continues to provide an unflinching look at the world of crime-solving and remains one of the most compelling true-crime series on television.
