Ep 1. Loved to Death / Unmasked

In the season 4 premiere of The First 48, two separate cases are followed as detectives work to solve homicides in the first 48 hours after the crime is committed.

The first case takes place in Miami, Florida, where 31-year-old Natasha Clemons has been stabbed to death in her apartment. Detectives Eddie Avila and Kevin Ruggiero are called to the scene and begin to canvas the area for any clues. As they talk to Natasha's boyfriend, they discover that she had recently broken up with him and had been seeing someone else. They also learn that Natasha's car is missing and begin to suspect that the killer may have taken it.

The detectives interview Natasha's friends and family and eventually receive a tip from a neighbor who saw someone driving her car on the night of the murder. The tip leads them to a suspect who they bring in for questioning. With the help of DNA evidence found at the crime scene and in the suspect's car, they are able to make an arrest and bring Natasha's killer to justice.

The second case takes place in Dallas, Texas, where 27-year-old Anastasia Solomon has been shot to death in her home. Detective Dwayne Thompson and his team arrive on the scene and begin to question Anastasia's husband and neighbors. They learn that Anastasia was a popular hairdresser and was loved by many clients and friends.

As the investigation progresses, the detectives discover that Anastasia's husband has a history of domestic abuse and had recently been arrested for assaulting her. They also uncover evidence that links him to the murder scene. With the help of surveillance footage and witness testimony, they are able to arrest the husband and charge him with Anastasia's murder.

Throughout both cases, the detectives work tirelessly to gather evidence and track down leads in a race against time to capture the killers. The tension is high as they face the challenges of each unique case, and viewers are left on the edge of their seats as they witness the detectives' dedication to bringing justice to the victims and their families.
