Ep 2. The Origin of the Fantastic Four (2)

The Fantastic Four (1994) is a superhero cartoon series that was first aired in 1994. The show was based on the Marvel comic book series of the same name, and it follows the adventures of a group of superheroes: Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and The Thing.

In season 1 episode 2, titled "The Origin of the Fantastic Four (2)," we continue to follow the story of how the Fantastic Four first came into existence. The episode begins with the group being introduced to the world, as they use their unique powers to combat various threats. However, we see that the team is struggling to work together as a cohesive unit, and their initial victories are short-lived.

As the episode progresses, we are taken back in time to when the team was still forming. We learn about the events that led to the group gaining their powers and discover how they came to be a team. We see that Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) was a brilliant scientist who had been experimenting with a new type of spacecraft. He enlisted the help of his best friend, Ben Grimm (The Thing), to help him pilot the spacecraft on its maiden voyage. Alongside them, Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) and her younger brother, Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), were also supposed to be part of the mission.

However, things take a dramatic turn when the spacecraft is hit by a wave of cosmic radiation, causing the four passengers to gain superhuman abilities. Reed gains the power of elasticity, Ben is transformed into a massive, rock-like creature, Sue can turn invisible and create force fields, and Johnny can set himself on fire and fly.

After returning to Earth, the four struggle to come to terms with their new abilities. Ben is particularly upset about his new form and is initially hostile towards Reed and the others. Meanwhile, the government has taken notice of their powers and is keen to use them for their own purposes.

As the episode unfolds, we see the team slowly find their feet and begin to work together as a unit. They come up against a dangerous villain, the Mole Man, who has been wreaking havoc underground. The Fantastic Four are forced to work together to defeat him, and in doing so, they discover the true power of their abilities.

Overall, "The Origin of the Fantastic Four (2)" is a great continuation of the series. It does an excellent job of exploring the characters' individual strengths and weaknesses and shows how they came to be a team. The episode is action-packed and has some great set pieces, including a thrilling battle against the Mole Man. Overall, it's an excellent episode that helps to establish the Fantastic Four as a force to be reckoned with.
