The Fall Guy season 5 episode 4, titled "A Fistful of Lire," follows Colt Seavers (Lee Majors) and his team as they head to Italy to collect a fugitive who has fled to Rome. The fugitive, an American con man named Eddie Neddick (played by guest star John Vernon), is wanted for embezzling $5 million from a charitable foundation.
Upon arriving in Italy, Colt and his team are immediately met with resistance from the Italian authorities, who view them with suspicion and regard their methods as uncivilized. Colt's Italian contact, a woman named Maria (played by Marilu Henner), proves to be a valuable ally, helping to smooth over some of the friction between the Americans and the Italians.
As the search for Neddick heats up, Colt and his team are led on a wild chase through the streets of Rome, dodging Italian police and Neddick's own hired goons. The stakes are raised even higher when Colt learns that Neddick is planning to sell his stolen money to the highest bidder, and that a notorious crime lord known as "The Roman" (played by Frank Puglia) is also after the cash.
In the midst of all the chaos, Colt finds time to indulge in some quintessentially Italian pleasures, such as savoring a plate of linguine and drinking wine while admiring the view of the Colosseum. But there is little time for leisure when Neddick and his pursuers converge on a secret meeting place, resulting in a explosive and unpredictable showdown.
Ultimately, Colt and his team are able to capture Neddick and bring him back to the United States to face justice. Along the way, they have proven their mettle as skilled and resourceful bounty hunters, while also gaining a newfound appreciation for the complexity of Italian culture and society.
