Ep 21. Lights Out / Dad Overboard

Timmy Turner is a 10-year-old boy who has two fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda. In the episode "Lights Out / Dad Overboard" of The Fairly Odd Parents season 7, Timmy needs to write a report on Thomas Edison, but his parents make him go outside to play instead. Timmy accidentally trips on an exposed root and is unable to get up due to his injured foot.

Cosmo and Wanda come to Timmy's rescue and grant him the ability to turn into light so that he can still do his report even though he is unable to write. Timmy uses his new abilities to gather information on Thomas Edison by sneaking into his lab. Meanwhile, Timmy's dad goes on a fishing trip with Mr. Crocker's father and ends up being stranded on an island together with him. Timmy's dad tries to signal for help by creating a makeshift lighthouse, but Mr. Crocker's father keeps sabotaging his efforts.

As Timmy continues to gather information on Edison, he learns about his rivalry with Nikola Tesla and how Edison cheated him out of his inventions. Timmy decides to help Tesla and returns to the present to prevent Edison from winning the inventions war between the two. Meanwhile, Timmy's dad manages to outsmart Mr. Crocker's father and finally gets rescued.

In the end, Timmy learns the importance of hard work and determination, and his dad learns to appreciate the things that he has in life. The episode ends with Timmy and his fairy godparents returning to their normal lives, happy and content.
