Timmy Turner, a ten-year-old boy, has two fairy godparents who can grant him wishes. Their names are Cosmo and Wanda, and they come from the fairy world, which is called Fairy World. Cosmo is a silly and incompetent fairy, while Wanda is the more mature and responsible of the two. In the episode "Hard Copy / Parent Hoods", Timmy experiences two very different situations.
In "Hard Copy", Timmy is working on a school paper about his hero, Crash Nebula, a comic book hero. He wishes he could meet Crash Nebula in person, but when he does, he finds out that the hero is not what he expected. Crash Nebula turns out to be a rude and arrogant jerk who belittles Timmy and treats his fans like dirt. Timmy is crushed, but when he wishes for a different hero, he discovers that Crash Nebula is not the only one with a bad attitude. Timmy learns an important lesson about not putting his heroes on a pedestal and appreciating the people who are truly important in his life.
In "Parent Hoods", Timmy's fairy godparents are having a baby, and they are worried about how to be good parents. They decide to learn from the best, so they observe different parenting styles from the parents of Timmy's friends. They witness the neglectful parenting of A.J.'s parents, the overprotective parenting of Chester's dad, and the pushy parenting of Tootie's mom. In the end, they realize that the best way to be good parents is to be supportive, loving, and to give their child room to grow and make their own choices.
As always, Timmy's wishes don't always go as planned, and chaos ensues. But in the end, he learns valuable lessons about what is really important in life, and his fairy godparents learn how to be good parents. "Hard Copy / Parent Hoods" is a fun and heartwarming episode that will entertain audiences of all ages.
