Timmy Turner is a young boy with two fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda who grant him wishes. In season 2 episode 6, titled "Foul Balled/The Boy Who Would Be Queen," Timmy finds himself in a double dilemma.
In the first half of the episode, "Foul Balled," Timmy is trying to win a game of basketball against his rival, Francis. However, Francis is cheating, and Timmy's fairy godparents are not allowed to help him win in sports. So Timmy wishes for a magical basketball that can't miss, but ends up losing the game anyways when Francis steals the ball and scores the winning point. Timmy tries to wish for a do-over, but he has already used up his fairies' power for the day. So, he has to rely on his own skills to try and win a rematch against Francis without cheating. In the end, Timmy discovers the importance of playing fair and being a good sport.
In the second half of the episode, "The Boy Who Would Be Queen," Timmy is confronted with an entirely different problem. He has a crush on a girl named Trixie Tang, who only likes boys who are into girly things like ballet. So, to impress her, Timmy wishes to become the queen of the school's ballet. However, things don't go as planned when he discovers that he is not cut out for ballet and is constantly embarrassing himself in front of Trixie. In the end, Timmy realizes that he doesn't have to pretend to be someone he's not to win someone's heart, and that being true to yourself is more important than trying to fit in with someone else's interests.
Throughout the episode, Timmy's trusty fairy godparents are there to guide him through his dilemmas, but ultimately, he learns important life lessons through his own experiences. "Foul Balled/The Boy Who Would Be Queen" is another hilarious and heartwarming episode in the Fairly OddParents series.
