In the fourth episode of Fairly OddParents' first season, titled "A Wish Too Far/Tiny Timmy," we see our young protagonist Timmy Turner struggling with the responsibility that comes with having fairy godparents.
The episode kicks off with Timmy and his godparents Cosmo and Wanda at school, where Timmy is repeatedly bullied by his classmates. Feeling fed up, Timmy wishes that he had the power to make all his wishes come true. As always, Cosmo and Wanda are happy to grant his wish, but caution him not to overuse his newfound power.
Of course, Timmy doesn't listen and immediately starts making all his wishes come true, no matter how ridiculous they may seem. He wishes for giant ice cream sundaes, a mansion made of candy, and even a world without rules or authority figures. But as he continues to indulge in his every whim, Timmy begins to realize that there are consequences to his actions.
Meanwhile, a subplot involving Timmy's classmate A.J. and his wish for a miniature version of himself (dubbed "Tiny Timmy") is also playing out. A.J. quickly learns that having a mini-me isn't all it's cracked up to be, as Tiny Timmy becomes a constant source of irritation and trouble.
As the episode progresses, the two storylines eventually intersect in unexpected ways, culminating in a chaotic finale that sees Timmy struggling to undo the damage he's caused. Along the way, we get a number of fun nods to classic fairy tales and fables (such as "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" and "Hansel and Gretel"), as well as plenty of slapstick humor and imaginative visuals.
Overall, "A Wish Too Far/Tiny Timmy" is a solid episode that showcases the creative energy and playful sensibility that would come to define the Fairly OddParents franchise. While it may not be the strongest installment in the series, it's still a lot of fun to watch and a great way to introduce newcomers to Timmy, Cosmo, Wanda, and the zany world they inhabit.
