Ep 41. The Water Witch

While visiting the Blakes farm to observe a well drilling, Tom, Annie, and Paul witness a long-time feud between Bud Howard, a Hydrologist who uses science to locate wells, and Noah Sedgwick, a water witch who douses for wells with a forked stick. When Noahs methods fall under criticism for being inaccurate, Paul undertakes to make his friend a new improved dowsing rod, while Tom and Annie use their knowledge of water tables and geometry to help settle the feud and unmask a crime.
