- July 26, 2013
In this episode of "The Doc Files (Shorts)" season 1, titled "Gustov Gator," the young and talented Doc McStuffins takes on another exciting medical adventure in her animated world of toys.
As the episode begins, we find Doc McStuffins at her playhouse clinic, surrounded by her stuffed animal friends. This time, a special patient arrives in need of Doc's help - Gustov Gator, a green stuffed crocodile toy who has been experiencing some peculiar symptoms. Gustov's normally loud and booming voice has mysteriously vanished, leaving him feeling sad and uncertain.
Doc McStuffins, armed with her trusty magical stethoscope and her innate curiosity, sets out to investigate Gustov's condition. With her lovable sidekicks Lambie, Stuffy, Chilly, and Hallie by her side, Doc uses her expert medical skills and imaginations to understand and solve the problem.
First, Doc carefully examines Gustov's throat to see if there are any visible signs of illness or injury. Despite his attempts to speak, Gustov can only produce a faint whisper. Doc hears his concerns and reassures him that she will do everything she can to restore his voice.
To get a better understanding of Gustov's symptoms, Doc decides to run a few tests. She performs a laryngoscopy, a procedure where she inserts a tiny camera down Gustov's throat to examine his vocal cords. The images reveal that one of Gustov's vocal cords is inflamed and causing the partial hoarseness. Doc thinks that this could be due to a common condition among crocodile toys like Gustov, known as "croakitis."
Next, Doc consults her medical book, known as 'The Big Book of Boo Boos,' for helpful information about croakitis. The book identifies this ailment as a temporary condition that affects the vocal cords of crocodile toys. It suggests a variety of soothing treatments that could alleviate Gustov's symptoms and allow his voice to return to normal.
Doc and her enthusiastic companions embark on a mission to gather the necessary materials for Gustov's treatment. They collect cool and refreshing water from the watering station, as well as some soft, soothing honey from the Honey Pie Hives. These ingredients will be used to create a special gargling solution for Gustov.
Back at the clinic, Doc prepares the dilution with water and honey while Gustov watches nervously. Doc then instructs Gustov to gargle the mixture gently, reassuring him that it will help ease the inflammation in his vocal cord and eventually bring back his normal voice.
As Gustov follows Doc's instructions, he notices a significant improvement in his voice. Slowly but surely, his deep, booming crocodile voice returns. He is elated, and Doc McStuffins congratulates him on his progress. The entire clinic bursts into applause, celebrating his successful treatment.
The episode concludes with Gustov expressing his gratitude to Doc McStuffins and her friends for their exceptional care and kindness. He promises to be more cautious in the future, taking care of his vocal cords to avoid a relapse of the “croakitis.” As the episode ends, Doc reaffirms her dedication to helping toys feel better and reminds viewers of the importance of seeking medical attention when needed.
