- May 23, 2018
As the title suggests, this 19th episode of season 2 of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. revolves around a cultural festival in PK Academy, where Saiki and his classmates are exhibiting their skills and talents in various forms of arts, crafts and performances. However, things take a turn for the worse when Saiki's class 2-3 gets into a series of misadventures, leading to chaos and destruction. From a malfunctioning toast machine to a runaway haunted house, everything seems to go wrong for the unlucky class.
The episode begins with Saiki staring at his reflection in a mirror, lamenting his inability to enjoy the cultural festival like a normal high school student. As a telepath, he feels overwhelmed by the noise and thoughts of thousands of people around him, making it hard for him to focus or communicate with his friends. However, he decides to put up a brave face and join his classmates in their efforts to impress the visitors.
As Saiki walks through the crowded venue, he notices some strange things happening around him. He sees a group of girls admiring a cursed doll, which suddenly comes to life and starts running towards him. He dodges the doll and realizes that one of his classmates, Teruhashi Kokomi, has accidentally activated her psychic powers due to the stress of the festival. Teruhashi, who is known for her beauty and popularity, is mortified to be seen using her powers in public, and begs Saiki to help her get rid of them.
However, before Saiki can do anything, he hears a loud noise coming from the school building. As he rushes to investigate, he sees his classmates from class 2-3 causing a ruckus in the cafeteria. They have rigged a toast machine to shoot bread slices at high speed, causing a commotion among the visitors and staff. Saiki tries to calm them down, but his efforts are in vain as they are too excited to listen to reason.
The situation becomes worse when one of Saiki's classmates, Nendou Riki, accidentally activates his pyrokinesis, setting fire to the nearby curtains. Saiki uses his telekinesis to put out the fire, but he realizes that the situation is beyond his control. He decides to use his invisibility power to escape the scene and warn his other classmates about the danger.
As he sneaks into the haunted house exhibition, he sees his classmates Shun Kaidou and Touma Akechi trying to create a realistic ghost experience for the visitors. However, their efforts backfire when a real ghost appears before them, scaring them out of their wits. They run into Saiki, who reveals that the ghost is actually a lost spirit from a shrine that was recently destroyed by a construction company. He decides to help the ghost find its way to the afterlife, using his supernatural powers to create a portal to the other side.
Meanwhile, back in the cafeteria, the chaos continues as Saiki's classmates accidentally break a valuable antique plate, causing a chain reaction of destruction. Saiki's friend, Kineshi Hairo, tries to stop them by using his judo skills, but he too ends up getting caught in the mayhem. It is only when Saiki's father, who is alsoa psychic, appears on the scene and uses his telepathy to calm everyone down that the situation is brought under control.
The episode ends with Saiki and his classmates nursing their injuries, while reflecting on the events of the day. Despite the disasters and mishaps, they all agree that it was a memorable and enjoyable experience. Saiki, who had been worried about being exposed as a psychic, realizes that his classmates are more concerned about his safety and well-being than his powers. He decides to embrace his unique abilities and enjoy his high school life to the fullest.
Overall, this episode of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is a hilarious and action-packed journey through a cultural festival gone wrong. With its quirky characters, clever humor, and supernatural twists, it is sure to delight fans of the series and newcomers alike.
