Rob receives a frantic call from his brother Stacey, who needs to borrow $2500 to pay off his gambling debts by 9am the next day or face a possible injury at the hands of his bookie. Although initially doubtful of his brother's sincerity, Rob eventually agrees to help him.
However, Rob soon discovers that Stacey has lied about the reason for his debt and is actually using the money to fund a business venture that he hopes will make him rich. Feeling betrayed and taken advantage of, Rob demands that his brother return the money immediately.
Meanwhile, Laura is excited to attend a charity event with Rob's boss Alan Brady, but her plans are derailed when she learns that Rob has lent the money to his brother. She confronts Rob about his decision, and the two argue about the importance of family obligations versus financial responsibility.
As the deadline for repayment approaches, Rob becomes increasingly desperate to get the money back, even resorting to stealing from a petty cash jar at work. However, his plan is foiled by his colleagues and he is forced to come clean about his situation.
In the end, Stacey is able to repay the loan with the help of his business partner, and Rob learns a valuable lesson about the importance of trusting his instincts and being honest with his loved ones.
