Rob is disturbed by a female colleague, Gloria, who is mysteriously able to complete scripts for the Alan Brady Show in less than half the time it takes him to do the same job. Laura tells him that Gloria probably just has a different way of approaching the task. Rob, however, decides to observe Gloria at work and try to learn her secret. When Gloria discovers what Rob is doing, she offers to demonstrate her "method," which turns out to be as simple as taking frequent breaks to do her nails, hair, and makeup. At first, Rob is angry at what he perceives as a lack of professionalism, but Gloria points out that her results speak for themselves. Eventually, Rob is able to reconcile himself to the situation and learns that women have their own ways of doing things, which may not be readily apparent to men. Meanwhile, Laura is trying to convince Rob to take her out on a proper date, but he's too wrapped up in his work to pay much attention. Finally, she resorts to using reverse psychology and tells Rob he can't take her out because she'll be too busy that night. This gets Rob's attention, and he agrees to a date, but only after he's finished his work for the day.
