In season 8 episode 5 of The Dead Files, titled "Evil Influence - Mayfield, Kentucky," psychic medium Amy Allan and retired NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi head to Mayfield, Kentucky to investigate claims of paranormal activity in a family's home.
The family has reported a variety of disturbing occurrences, including strange noises, objects moving on their own, and feelings of being watched or touched by an unseen force. They also believe that an evil presence is residing in their house, causing terror and chaos for everyone living there.
As Amy begins to explore the property, she senses a dark and malevolent energy that seems to be rooted in the past. She encounters spirits of former residents who have been trapped in the house for years, unable to move on to the afterlife. From these spirits, Amy learns about a tragic event that took place at the house many years ago, leading her and Steve to dig deeper into the history of the property.
While Steve conducts his investigation, he uncovers a darker side of the town's history that may be the root cause of the paranormal activity in the house. He speaks with locals who recount stories of violence, murder, and betrayal within the community, leading him to believe that something sinister may be lurking just beneath the surface.
As the investigation progresses, Amy and Steve work together to identify the source of the family's hauntings and devise a plan to help them rid their home of the malevolent entity that has taken up residence there. With the help of local clergy and spiritual advisors, they embark on a cleansing ritual to remove the evil influence that has been plaguing the family's home.
In the end, Amy and Steve are able to help the family find peace and closure, but the case leaves them with a deeper understanding of the power of negative energy and the need for forgiveness and healing in order to truly move on from the past.
