In The Dead Files season 3 episode 2, titled "A Banshee's Cry," Steve and Amy travel to Merrill, Wisconsin to investigate an old family farmhouse that has been passed down through generations. The current owners, Meg and her husband, John, have been experiencing intense paranormal activity that's not only ruining their lives but their health as well.
Upon arrival, Steve interviews Meg and John to get a better understanding of the activity they've been experiencing. They've seen apparitions, heard unexplainable noises, and even had Meg's name called out in a malevolent voice. John tells Steve that he's been experiencing intense headaches and has been unable to sleep since moving into the house. Meg has been experiencing nosebleeds and a sense of dread that's always present.
Amy begins her walk-through and is immediately overwhelmed with the feeling of sadness and despair. She uncovers a past tragedy that occurred on the property, which may be tied to the current activity. Amy believes the land is cursed, and the Banshee of Irish folklore is responsible for the negative energy.
The investigation leads Steve and Amy to a nearby cemetery, where they come across a grave of a young girl who died in the late 1800s. Amy senses this is the source of the sadness, and Steve discovers the girl's mother is buried near her. The mother's grave indicates that she was a healer, and Steve believes she may have been practicing the forbidden art of witchcraft, which could be responsible for the curse.
As the night progresses, the activity becomes more intense, and Steve and Amy work together to find a way to break the curse and alleviate the negative energy inside the farmhouse. With the help of a local historian, they discover that Meg's family is related to the family involved in the past tragedy and that the Banshee is warning of impending doom.
Their findings lead to a dramatic reveal, distressing the homeowners with the depth of the secrets buried beneath their beloved family home. Finally, Steve and Amy provide practical tips and guidance to Meg and John to help them live peacefully in their haunted home. Will their advice be enough to relieve the family of the immense dread that they feel? Only time will tell in the episode of "A Banshee's Cry."
