Ep 9. Danny and the Dentist

Danny Thomas was a hit television show that aired from 1953 to 1964. The show followed the life of comedian Danny Williams, a nightclub singer turned general entertainer, as he navigated the ups and downs of show business while raising his family.

In season 8 episode 9, titled "Danny and the Dentist," Danny's daughter Terry is in need of major dental work after a sledding accident. Danny is hesitant to take her to the dentist after a traumatic experience he had with a dentist as a child. However, his wife Margaret convinces him to take Terry to their family dentist, Dr. Joe.

Upon arriving at the dentist's office, Danny's nerves are on edge as he bristles at the sight of the drill and dental tools. Dr. Joe does his best to put Danny at ease, but Danny's anxiety only grows as he watches Terry getting her dental work done. When Terry cries out in pain, Danny nearly bolts from the room.

As Danny prepares to flee, Dr. Joe asks him to stay and help hold Terry's hand. Danny reluctantly agrees and soon finds himself playing the role of the supportive parent, offering words of encouragement and calming Terry's nerves. He even distracts her with a silly song.

As the procedure comes to a close, Danny is amazed at how brave Terry has been. He apologizes to Dr. Joe for his behavior and thanks him for taking such good care of his daughter. Danny even schedules his own dental appointment for the following week.

While the episode deals with the fear and anxiety many people have about going to the dentist, it also highlights the importance of facing our fears head-on and supporting our loved ones through difficult situations. It's a heartwarming episode that showcases the love and strength of the Williams family.
