After the intense battle that took place in Episode 7, Episode 8 of The Daily Life of the Immortal King takes a step back and focuses on the aftermath of the fight. Our protagonist Wang Ling continues to navigate his role as the Class Monitor and his responsibilities as an immortal.

In this episode, we see Wang Ling trying to balance his school life and his immortal life. He focuses on helping his friends with their homework and attending his classes while still trying to keep his powers hidden from his classmates. This is easier said than done when his ability to float begins to falter in the middle of class and he is forced to pretend to have fallen asleep.

Outside of school, Wang Ling deals with the consequences of his previous battles. As an immortal, he is responsible for keeping the balance of the world and has to give offerings to the gods to keep them appeased. However, his battles have caused a disruption in this balance, and we see the manifestation of the gods' anger when one of Wang Ling's offerings is refused.

To fix this, Wang Ling and his immortal friends decide to embark on a journey to the Underworld to pay their respects to the god of the dead. The journey is filled with obstacles, including a guard dog that requires an offering of its own. However, Wang Ling's quick thinking saves the day, and they are able to continue on their journey.

Once they arrive at the Underworld, they are greeted by the god of the dead, who appears to be friendly and accommodating. However, soon it becomes clear that this is just a facade, and the god has ulterior motives. He tricks Wang Ling into a game of chess with the stakes being that if Wang Ling loses, he will be stuck in the Underworld forever. The game is intense, and we see Wang Ling's genius mind at work as he tries to outsmart the god of the dead.

Overall, Episode 8 of The Daily Life of the Immortal King is a slower episode that focuses on the aftermath of previous battles and the everyday life of Wang Ling. However, it still manages to keep us entertained with its mix of humor, action, and supernatural elements. The journey to the Underworld is a fun adventure, and the game of chess adds an additional layer of tension to an already exciting episode.
