In this episode of The Cowboy Way season 2, titled "Tradition VS Technology," the three cowboys, Bubba, Cody, and Booger, grapple with the challenges that come with balancing the old-fashioned ways of ranching with the efficiencies of modern technology.
As they go about their daily routines, the cowboys discuss the pros and cons of technology in their line of work. Cody, who is the most tech-savvy of the trio, advocates for the use of GPS and drones to survey and track their cattle. Bubba and Booger, on the other hand, are more skeptical and prefer to rely on their instincts and experience to manage their herds.
Their different opinions are put to the test when they have to work together to brand a group of rowdy young calves. Cody sets up his drone to help locate the stray animals, but the device malfunctions and crashes before they can even catch a glimpse of the calves. Bubba and Booger, on the other hand, enlist the help of their trusty horses and their years of experience to round up the stray calves and bring them back to the branding pen.
Later on, the cowboys encounter another dilemma when they're tasked with repairing a fence that has been damaged by a recent thunderstorm. Cody suggests they use an electric fence system that he's seen in action before, but Bubba and Booger are hesitant to adopt a method that they're unfamiliar with. They decide to stick to their tried-and-true method of using wooden posts and barbed wire, despite the extra effort it requires.
Throughout the episode, viewers get a glimpse into the lives of these hardworking cowboys as they navigate the challenges of the ranching business. They discuss the importance of preserving the traditions of their craft while also embracing modern technology where it can be helpful.
At the heart of it all, "Tradition VS Technology" showcases the bond between these three cowboys and their unwavering dedication to their way of life. Whether they're riding horses through the rugged terrain, repairing a fence, or branding a calf, the cowboys of The Cowboy Way are always up for the challenge.
