Ep 22. Nightmare on Stigwood Avenue

The Cosby Show season 7 episode 22, titled "Nightmare on Stigwood Avenue," follows the Huxtable family as they prepare to celebrate Halloween. Rudy, Vanessa, and Clair are all enthusiastic about the holiday and are busy arranging decorations and costumes. However, Theo is not as excited and is struggling to come up with a costume idea.

In order to get to the bottom of things, Cliff and Theo decide to conduct an "investigation" of the house to see if they can catch the ghost. They set up a trap in the basement with a doll as bait. However, the plan goes awry when the doll starts moving on its own and the two of them are chased out of the basement by what appears to be a ghost.

Tensions in the house are running high as the family becomes increasingly convinced that there's something supernatural going on. Rudy, Vanessa, and Clair try to take their minds off things by watching a horror movie, but even that proves to be too much for Theo who runs out of the room.

As the night progresses, the family starts to realize that the "ghost" is not trying to harm them but is actually trying to communicate. With a little help from Cliff, they are able to decipher that the ghost is trying to tell them that there's a gas leak in the basement and that they need to evacuate the house immediately.

The family safely makes it out of the house just in time as the gas leak is about to cause an explosion. They are grateful for the ghost's warning and decide to spend the night at a hotel. The next morning, they return to find their house intact. They realize that the "ghost" was actually a friendly spirit trying to save their lives.

As the episode comes to a close, the family learns an important lesson about not jumping to conclusions and being open-minded. They also appreciate that their house has a friendly ghost looking out for them. The episode ends with the family celebrating Halloween and reminiscing about their eventful night.
