Ep 9. Driver Ed

The Completely Mental Misadventures Of Ed Grimley is an animated show about the title character, Ed Grimley, who is a hyperactive, quirky, and overly-enthusiastic man in his 30s. Each episode follows Ed as he gets into peculiar and absurd situations in his daily life.

In season 1 episode 9, titled "Driver Ed," Ed decides to take driving lessons so that he can finally get a license. He enlists the help of his friends Count Floyd and Rusty the Horse to teach him how to drive. However, Ed's excitement and lack of focus cause chaos during the lessons.

During his first lesson with Count Floyd, Ed gets distracted by a helium balloon floating outside the car and accidentally crashes into a mailbox. The impact causes the mailbox to break open, revealing a group of kittens inside. Ed becomes enamored with the kittens and decides to adopt them, much to Count Floyd's dismay.

In his next lesson with Rusty the Horse, Ed becomes fixated on the idea of driving a Ferrari. Rusty tries to explain to Ed that he can't afford a Ferrari and that it's not a practical car for everyday use, but Ed won't listen. While driving, Ed imagines himself in a Ferrari and accidentally drives the car into a lake.

After his disastrous driving lessons, Ed decides that he needs to practice more before taking the driving test. He spends the next few days obsessively driving his toy car around his apartment. However, his enthusiasm and lack of spatial awareness cause him to crash into everything in sight, including his furniture and his pet turtle.

Despite his setbacks, Ed is determined to pass his driving test. He spends the night before the test studying the driver's handbook and practicing parallel parking in his toy car. On the day of the test, he arrives at the DMV with his friends for support. However, Ed's nerves get the best of him and he accidentally crashes into the DMV sign, causing it to fall over.

Despite his mishaps, Ed manages to pass his driving test and receives his license. Overjoyed, he decides to take Rusty and Count Floyd on a road trip to Niagara Falls. However, his reckless driving causes them to get lost and they end up in a completely different state.

In the end, Ed learns that driving is a serious responsibility and that he needs to focus and pay attention while behind the wheel. However, his quirky and hyperactive nature always seems to get in the way, leading to hilarious and completely mental misadventures.
