Cleveland Jr.'s Cherry Bomb is the fifth episode of the first season of the American animated sitcom, The Cleveland Show. The episode originally aired on October 25, 2009, on Fox Broadcasting Company.
The episode follows Cleveland Jr. (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson), the stepson of the show's protagonist Cleveland Brown (voiced by Mike Henry), as he embarks on a journey to become a man. He decides to build a model rocket for the school's science fair and calls his rocket "Cherry Bomb." However, his father and stepmother, Donna (voiced by Sanaa Lathan), do not take his project seriously and dismiss it as a childish activity.
Meanwhile, Cleveland (voiced by Mike Henry) and his friends - Rallo (voiced by Mike Henry), Tim (voiced by Seth MacFarlane), and Holt (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) - form a band and try to revive their old high school days by performing at the Stoolbend's State Fair. However, they lack a lead singer and try to convince Junior to join their band.
As the science fair approaches, Cleveland Jr. struggles to make his rocket work, and with the help of the school's outcast, Federline (voiced by Jamie Kennedy), he manages to build a functional rocket. At the same time, Cleveland's band is shown to be struggling without a lead singer, and they begin to appeal to Junior's musical skills.
However, Junior faces a dilemma when he realizes that his rocket happens to be too powerful, and he fears it might cause damage to the school's property. He contemplates not launching his rocket at all but decides to go ahead after receiving advice from his stepmother.
On the day of the science fair, Cleveland's band is ready to perform, but Junior, still feeling nervous about launching his rocket, accidentally fires it into the air and sends it off in the direction of the band. What follows is a series of humorous and chaotic events that leave everyone in the fairgrounds experiencing the aftermath of the rocket's launch, including the band's triumphant performance.
