The Cleveland Show season 1 episode 16, titled "Brown Knight," revolves around the character of Cleveland Brown. Cleveland, who is a former deli owner, finds himself working as a cable telemarketer. He is not happy with his job and longs to do something more meaningful.
Meanwhile, his son Cleveland Jr. is dealing with problems of his own. He is being bullied at school by a group of kids who call themselves the "Fatty Fighters." Cleveland Jr. is too afraid to stand up to them, which makes his dad feel powerless.
Feeling down and defeated, Cleveland goes to a local Renaissance fair. There, he meets a knight who calls himself Sir Brodie. Cleveland is immediately impressed by the knight's bravery and noble spirit. Sir Brodie tells Cleveland that he is a knight who fights for justice and helps those in need. Cleveland is inspired by Sir Brodie's words and decides to become a knight himself.
Cleveland's new job as a knight doesn't exactly go as planned. First, he struggles to come up with a costume that he thinks is fitting of a knight. Eventually, he settles on a brown outfit that he thinks looks decent. He then sets out to save his son from the bullies at school.
Cleveland shows up at the school dressed as Sir Brodie, but the students and teachers all laugh at him. Cleveland is embarrassed and dejected, but he doesn't give up. He decides to stand up to the bullies once and for all.
Cleveland challenges the leader of the Fatty Fighters to a jousting match. At first, Cleveland struggles to stay on his horse, but eventually, he gains the upper hand. He knocks the bully off his horse and wins the match.
After Cleveland's victory, the entire school rallies behind him. They all chant his name and reciprocate the same passion that he displayed in his fight against the bullies. The episode ends with Cleveland realizing that he doesn't have to be a knight to be a hero.
