The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! season 1 episode 25 is titled "Sniff and Seek/Aye Aye!". In this episode, the Cat in the Hat takes Sally and Nick to see some unusual animals.
At first, the group goes to the forest to find some animals that use their sense of smell to find food. Sally and Nick learn that animals like skunks, raccoons and even bears rely on their sense of smell to locate food. The Cat in the Hat explains that animals have a much better sense of smell than humans and can even smell things from far away. They also learn that some animals can smell things underwater as well. The Cat in the Hat takes the children on a ride on a skunk's tail to help them understand just how powerful an animal's sense of smell can be.
In the second half of the episode, the group heads to the beach where they meet a lemur named Liz. Liz explains that she is an aye-aye, a type of lemur that is very rare. The children learn that aye-ayes have very sharp claws and use them to dig into trees to find insects to eat. The Cat in the Hat introduces the children to some of Liz's friends who are also aye-ayes and they learn all about how the aye-ayes use their unique features to navigate their habitat.
After spending time with the aye-ayes, the Cat in the Hat takes Sally and Nick on a magical voyage to learn more about animals that use their sense of smell. They meet a variety of animals from around the world, including a hyena, a mole, and a shark. The children learn about how each of these animals uses their sense of smell in different ways and how important it is to their survival.
Throughout the episode, the Cat in the Hat encourages Sally and Nick to use their senses to explore and understand the world around them. By the end of the episode, the children have gained a greater appreciation for the amazing abilities of the animals that they have encountered.
