Ep 17. A Long Winter's Nap/The Tree Doctor

The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! season 1 episode 17 features two adventures of the curious and lovable feline.

In "A Long Winter's Nap," The Cat in the Hat takes Nick and Sally to meet some characters who take naps all winter long - bears! The trio explores a bear cave and learns about hibernation. They discover that bears prepare for winter by eating a lot of food and gaining weight, and when winter comes, their body temperature drops, and they go into a deep sleep until the spring. Nick and Sally even get to experience a winter nap of their own with the help of The Cat and his cozy blanket.

In "The Tree Doctor," The Cat in the Hat teaches Nick and Sally about how trees "eat" and grow. They meet a tree expert named Arbor who takes them on a tree tour, and The Cat shows them how to identify different types of trees by their leaves and bark. When Nick and Sally notice some of the trees have sap oozing out of them, Arbor explains that trees have their own kind of medicine to help heal any wounds they may get. He even shows them how to make a quick fix for a broken branch.
