In The Brittas Empire season 2 episode 2 titled "Temple of The Body," things are not going well for the staff of the Whitbury Leisure Centre. Mr. Brittas is on a health kick and has decided that the centre needs to offer more fitness classes to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Gordon, with his typical enthusiasm, has hired a new fitness instructor named Gavin. Gavin is young, energetic, and a big believer in the power of positive thinking. He has a rock-hard body and a winning smile. At first, the staff are impressed with him, but they soon begin to feel threatened.
Gavin's popularity grows quickly among the patrons of the leisure centre, and the staff begin to feel unappreciated and undervalued. Carole, the centre's receptionist, is particularly put out as she feels that her own fitness classes have been overshadowed by Gavin's arrival.
Meanwhile, Brittas himself is feeling the strain of his new fitness regime. He has given up coffee, sugar, and all fatty foods, and has taken to working out on a regular basis. However, he is not seeing the results he wants, and he becomes increasingly frustrated.
In an effort to boost his progress, Brittas decides to follow Gavin's advice and join his latest class, known as "The Temple of The Body." The class is designed to raise the participants' "vibrational energy" and consists of a series of bizarre exercises and breathing techniques.
Brittas throws himself into the class with his usual gusto, but things soon take a turn for the worse. As the exercises become more and more strenuous, Brittas's body begins to rebel. He starts to feel dizzy and disoriented and eventually collapses.
As he lies on the floor, the staff rush to his aid, and it becomes clear that Gavin's class has been a disaster. Brittas is rushed to the hospital, and the staff are left to pick up the pieces.
Despite the setback, Brittas remains convinced that he can achieve his health goals. He returns to work the next day sporting a brace on his arm and a renewed determination to succeed. However, the staff are less convinced, and they vow to get rid of Gavin once and for all.
In the end, the staff come up with a plan to sabotage Gavin's next class, but things do not go as planned. The class ends up being a huge success, and Gavin's popularity continues to grow. However, the staff do manage to teach him a valuable lesson about humility, and he decides to leave the leisure centre to pursue other interests.
As the episode comes to a close, things at Whitbury Leisure Centre return to normal, with Brittas still determined to achieve his fitness goals, and the staff still working hard to keep the centre running smoothly. However, the lesson they have learned is clear: sometimes, it is better to stick with what you know rather than trying to change everything all at once.
