In The Brady Bunch season 3 episode 12 titled "Getting Davy Jones," the Brady family is ecstatic to learn they have scored tickets to a sold-out concert featuring teen heartthrob Davy Jones of The Monkees. Everyone in the family is excitedly preparing for the concert. Marcia and Jan transform their bedroom into Davy Jones' dressing room, Peter seeks out the perfect camera to capture the moment, and Greg arranges for a meeting with their celebrity crush.
However, when the family realizes that Carol, the matriarch of the family, has accidentally given their tickets away to the family's housekeeper, Alice, they are in despair. They can't possibly miss their chance to see Davy Jones, who they consider the epitome of cool. The children brainstorm creative ideas to get their tickets back, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, Alice has been trying to come up with a last-minute gift for her friend, Sam, who loves The Monkees. Upon learning that she now has the coveted tickets, Alice feels guilty and offers them to Sam instead. However, when Sam mistakenly believes that Alice is asking him out on a date to the concert, she panics and asks Sam to find a replacement for her.
This leads Sam to serendipitously meet Davy Jones himself, who is in need of a backup singer for his concert. Sam impresses Jones with his singing skills and is offered a spot on stage, which he jumps at. Meanwhile, the Brady family is still trying to come up with a way to attend the concert.
In a stroke of luck, the Bradys run into Sam at the concert venue, who tells them he is performing with Davy Jones. Recognizing an opportunity, the kids beg Sam to help them meet Jones, and he agrees to introduce them.
The family finally comes face-to-face with their idol, and chaos ensues as they each try to get his attention. Marcia and Jan attempt to attract him with their homemade Davy Jones' dressing room. Greg tries to act cool and collected, while Peter stares in awe. And the youngest Brady children, Cindy and Bobby, just want their autographs.
As they leave the concert, the family is overjoyed with their experience, but also grateful for the opportunity to meet Davy Jones himself. They learn that sometimes, things don't always go as planned, but that unexpected opportunities can lead to unforgettable experiences.
