Bob and Emily are planning to visit Emily's grandmother for Thanksgiving. However, before they leave, Bob gets a call from one of his patients who is in crisis. Bob has to make a decision, whether to break the promise he made to his wife and stay back to help his patient or go ahead with his plans of visiting Emily's relatives. Emily tries to make him change his mind, but Bob is reluctant to cancel his plans. Emily decides to leave without him, but things do not go as planned when she gets lost on the way to her grandmother's house.
Meanwhile, back in Chicago, Howard and Jerry are left in charge of the office. They come up with an idea to spend the Thanksgiving holiday together without their families. However, they are soon joined by their own family members who had other plans fall through.
As Emily continues to search for her way to her grandmother's house, Bob gets concerned about her whereabouts. He decides to leave his patient's side and go in search of his wife. He enlists the help of a local sheriff to find Emily.
