When Amy takes a vacation to visit family, a frustrated Sheldon tries to relax by experimenting with new scientific theories. However, his plan to find a "perfect" room temperature is thwarted when he ends up locked in his apartment with no way to turn off the heat. Meanwhile, Howard and Bernadette have a fight that leads to Howard seeking solace at Raj's apartment. The group dynamics are thrown off balance as each member of the gang deals with their own isolation and attempts to reconnect with one another.
