Ep 5. The Desperation Emanation

Sheldon tries his best to make Amy want to go to the symposium with him. However, he gets frustrated when she keeps declining his offer. He soon realizes that he may need to go to the symposium alone and he succumbs to the idea. Penny is dealing with the struggles of her acting career and begins to battle with insecurities. In an effort to make her feel better, Bernadette and Amy decide to treat her to a makeover. Raj, on the other hand, is crushing on Howard's second cousin and seeks his friend's help. Howard initially agrees to help Raj out, but he soon changes his mind and leaves him hanging.
