Ep 7. Mission - Part 1

The Bible season 1 episode 7, titled "Mission - Part 1," follows the story of Saul, who is sent to Damascus to hunt down Christians. After his conversion, Saul begins to preach the gospel to the Jews in Damascus. This angers the local authorities, and they plot to kill him. However, Saul's followers lower him over the city wall in a basket and he escapes.

The episode also follows the story of a man named Philip, who is one of the seven deacons chosen by the apostles to serve the needs of the early Christian community. Philip is instructed by an angel of the Lord to go to the desert road that leads from Jerusalem to Gaza. While he is there, he encounters an Ethiopian eunuch who is reading from the book of Isaiah.

Philip asks the eunuch if he understands what he is reading, and the eunuch replies that he does not. Philip then explains to him that the passage he is reading refers to Jesus. The eunuch is so moved that he asks Philip to baptize him, and Philip agrees.

The episode ends with the news that Peter has been arrested by King Herod and is set to be executed. The early Christian community comes together to pray for his release, knowing that God is able to work miracles.
