The Beverly Hillbillies is a classic television comedy series that follows the lives of the Clampett family, a group of country bumpkins who strike it rich and move to Beverly Hills. Season 2 Episode 8, titled "The Clampetts are Overdrawn", picks up where the previous episode left off.
The episode begins with Mr. Drysdale, the Clampett's banker, informing Jed Clampett that they have overdrawn their account by $50,000 and need to take immediate action to rectify the situation. Jed is shocked and confused by the news, as he believes that they have a lot of money left from his oil strike.
Jed's confusion soon turns to anger when he realizes that Drysdale has been investing his money without his consent. Enraged at the discovery, Jed demands that Drysdale return all of his money immediately. Drysdale tries to explain that the investments were for the Clampett's own good, but Jed will not hear it and storms out of the bank.
Back at the mansion, Jed and the rest of the family begin to worry about their financial situation. Granny suggests that they start selling their belongings, but Jed refuses to give up his family heirlooms and forces her to abandon the idea.
Meanwhile, Drysdale is frantically trying to come up with a solution to the problem. He decides to make a deal with Jed, offering to return all of his money if he agrees to invest it in a risky business venture. Despite the risks, Jed agrees to the deal and the two shake hands.
As the business venture gets underway, the Clampetts receive a surprise visit from their old neighbors, the Dovers. The Dovers are amazed by the Clampett's lavish lifestyle and begin to feel jealous and resentful. The tension between the two families reaches a boiling point when the Dovers confront the Clampetts about their sudden wealth.
Despite the drama, things start to look up for the Clampetts when the business venture begins to take off. But just as everything seems to be going well, disaster strikes. The venture falls apart, leaving the Clampetts in even worse financial straits than before.
Determined to find a solution, Jed and Drysdale come up with a new plan to save the family's finances. But when they present the idea to Granny, she insists on coming up with a plan of her own. Her plan turns out to be a stroke of genius, and the Clampetts are finally able to get their finances back on track.
