The Best Years is an American-Canadian drama series that aired on TeenNick from 2007 to 2009. Created by Aaron Martin, the show is set in Boston and revolves around a group of students who are attending the fictional Charles University on a scholarship. The central character of the show is Samantha Best, played by Charity Shea. Samantha is a bright and ambitious young woman who hails from a small town in Kansas. She is passionate about journalism and is determined to make a name for herself in the field.

The show begins with Samantha arriving at Charles University and finding herself thrown into a world of rich, privileged students who seem to have everything handed to them on a silver platter. She quickly realizes that she will have to work twice as hard as her peers to fit in and make a mark. The first season of the show focuses on Samantha's struggles to adapt to her new surroundings and build relationships with her fellow students.

One of the central themes of the show is the class divide between Samantha and her fellow students. While Samantha comes from a humble background and has had to work hard to get where she is, most of the other students at Charles University come from wealthy families and have had every advantage in life. This divide causes a lot of tension and conflict between the characters, especially when it comes to issues of privilege and entitlement.

Despite the challenges she faces, Samantha is a resilient and determined character who refuses to give up on her dreams. She quickly becomes involved in the campus newspaper and starts to make a name for herself as a talented journalist. Along the way, she forms close relationships with some of her fellow students, including Devon Sylver, played by Brandon Jay McLaren. Devon is a charming and charismatic character who quickly becomes one of Samantha's closest friends. He is also a talented musician and forms a band with some of the other characters on the show.

Another character who plays an important role in the show is Dawn Vargaz, played by Niall Matter. Dawn is a troubled young man who comes from a wealthy family but is struggling to find his place in the world. He and Samantha form a complicated relationship over the course of the show, with both characters struggling to navigate their feelings for each other.

The Best Years is a show that deals with a wide range of issues facing young people today, including relationships, identity, and social inequality. It is also an engaging and entertaining drama that will appeal to fans of shows like Gossip Girl and The O.C. With its talented cast, engaging storylines, and relatable characters, The Best Years is a show that is sure to capture the hearts of audiences everywhere.
