Ep 5. Fiery Flavors

The Best of Man v Food season 1 episode 5, titled "Fiery Flavors," explores some of the hottest and spiciest foods featured on the popular food competition show. Richman notes that the heat of the peppers is balanced out by the bold and flavorful fillings and toppings.

Continuing his quest for fiery flavors, Richman heads to Portland, Oregon, to try the "Spice Lords" challenge at local food truck The Dump Truck. The challenge involves eating six spicy dumplings in just five minutes, with each dumpling increasing in heat level. Richman struggles with the challenge, but manages to power through with determination and a cool beverage to wash down the heat.

The episode concludes with a visit to the Big Easy in New Orleans, Louisiana, to try the "Hallelujah" sandwich at Killer Po'Boys. The sandwich features crispy fried chicken and hot sauce, as well as a special habanero-infused mayo. Despite the heat, Richman can't get enough of the sandwich and declares it one of the best he's ever had.
