Lucy is up to another one of her schemes in season 2 episode 10 of The Best of I Love Lucy. This time, she wants new furniture for her and Ricky's apartment, but she doesn't want to pay for it. She concocts a plan to have a "Home Show" in their apartment, where a company will display their furniture and guests can purchase anything they like. Lucy figures that if enough guests purchase furniture, the company will give them a commission and she can get her new furniture for free.
However, things quickly spiral out of control when Lucy gets drunk on "Vitameatavegamin" (a health tonic that is mostly alcohol) and starts hawking all of the company's furniture, demanding that guests buy it all. Chaos ensues, with guests running around trying to avoid Lucy and even dragging furniture out of the apartment themselves.
Meanwhile, Ricky is preparing for his big television audition and becomes increasingly frustrated with Lucy's antics. He tries to intervene, but Lucy is determined to make her scheme work. In the end, it all comes crashing down when the company representative shows up and is appalled at what is going on. He cancels the show and Lucy is left to deal with the aftermath.
As usual, the episode is filled with hilarious moments and physical comedy from Lucille Ball and the rest of the cast. From Lucy's overdone Vitameatavegamin commercial to the chaotic Home Show, viewers are sure to be entertained from start to finish.
In addition to the main plot, there are also several memorable subplots in this episode. Ethel is trying to sneak a dog into the apartment, but Fred catches her and tries to get rid of the dog. This leads to a series of shenanigans as Ethel tries to hide the dog from Fred and keep it a secret from Lucy and Ricky.
Meanwhile, the Mertzes are also dealing with their own problems when Mrs. Mertz accidentally sells one of her prized possessions – a Ming vase – to a guest at the Home Show. Mr. Mertz is furious and they spend the episode trying to retrieve the vase before the buyer leaves with it.
Overall, season 2 episode 10 of The Best of I Love Lucy is a classic episode filled with humor and hijinks. Whether you're a long-time fan of the show or a newcomer, you're sure to enjoy Lucy's latest scheme and the resulting chaos that ensues.
