The Berenstain Bears are back in action for season 3 with episode 4 titled "The Berenstain Bears Go To The Doctor / Don't Pollute (Anymore)". The beloved bear family navigates important lessons on menial tasks in this episode.
In "The Berenstain Bears Go To The Doctor," Papa Bear has a bad case of the hiccups and goes to see Dr. Grizzly to help fix the pesky problem. The cubs are initially worried for their dad, but quickly become fascinated by the doctor's tools and gadgets. As they wait, Brother and Sister Bear listen to Dr. Grizzly's patients and learn that the doctor can help them with their own issues too. The lesson of this episode lies in learning that going to the doctor is important for one's health and well-being, and that it's always important to ask questions and voice concerns to professionals.
The second half of the episode, titled "Don't Pollute (Anymore)," deals with a very important environmental issue: littering. When Sister Bear witnesses a neighbor littering in the town square, she's upset and wonders what she can do. Mama Bear tells her daughter about a town cleanup program, and the cubs go through their own community to clean up littered items. Through their community service, the cubs learn that they have the power to make a positive impact on their environment and be good stewards for the planet.
Through both lessons, the Berenstain Bears instill in young viewers important values: taking care of oneself and taking care of the world around them. "The Berenstain Bears Go To The Doctor / Don't Pollute (Anymore)" is a heartwarming episode that brings back familiar characters and underscores how we can all make positive changes if we work together.
