Ep 1. The good magistrate

Investigating magistrate Nino Scotellaro has chronic rhinitis and a passion for sea urchins. He has dedicated his life to fighting the Mafia. Thanks to a tip-off from Don Salvatore Tracina, head of the Tracina clan, he is finally one step away from capturing Mariano Suro, the powerful super-fugitive boss of Cosa Nostra. For Nino this represents not only a professional victory, but also a personal commitment: Suro, in fact, was responsible for the death of Paolo Bray, his mentor and the father of his wife Luvi. Going against the orders of the anti-mafia pool, Nino asks for help from his sister Leonarda, a Carabinieri special agent, to follow a kidney that the fearsome boss is scheduled to receive in a transplant.
