In The Andy Griffith Show season 7 episode 13, Otis the Deputy, the lovable town drunk Otis Campbell is given the opportunity to prove himself as a trustworthy citizen of Mayberry when he is appointed as a deputy sheriff by Sheriff Andy Taylor.
