Gumball and Darwin are having a push-up competition when Anais brings them a banana. Darwin is immediately tempted to eat it, but Gumball insists on saving it for later. The two then proceed to argue over the correct way to store a banana, with Gumball insisting that it should be left out in the open and Darwin advocating for the use of a banana hammock. Their argument is interrupted when they hear a commotion coming from the kitchen--turns out the banana has sprouted legs and is making a run for it. The boys chase after it, but the banana proves to be a tough opponent and eludes them at every turn.
Meanwhile, Nicole has been dealing with a particularly difficult client at work. She's spent the entire day on the phone with him, trying to iron out the details of their deal. Just when she thinks she's made some headway, the man reveals that he's allergic to something in the product they're planning to make. Nicole is understandably frustrated, but she refuses to give up. She's determined to make this deal work, no matter what.
As the boys continue their pursuit of the banana, they run into several other fruits and vegetables who seem to be in league with their quarry. A group of grapes tries to trip them up, a bunch of carrots tries to run them over, and a potato tries to electrocute them with a makeshift taser. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, the boys finally catch up to the banana--only to find that it's not trying to escape them at all. Instead, it's leading them to a secret underground lair, where a group of fruit and vegetable revolutionaries have been secretly plotting for years. The banana explains that they're tired of being treated like second-class citizens in the food world, and they're prepared to fight for their rights.
Gumball and Darwin are skeptical at first, but the more they learn about the fruits and veggies' plight, the more they begin to sympathize with their cause. They agree to help the revolutionaries in any way they can, and soon find themselves embroiled in a full-scale food battle. The bananas are armed with banana peels (naturally), the grapes are slinging themselves like tiny purple cannonballs, and the carrots have modified their tops to serve as propellers. It's a chaotic scene, but Gumball and Darwin manage to hold their own with some quick thinking and clever tactics.
In the end, the fruits and veggies emerge victorious, and Gumball and Darwin are hailed as heroes. The banana reveals that he was never trying to escape them--he wanted to recruit them all along. He invites the boys to join the revolution and fight for the rights of fruits and veggies everywhere. Gumball and Darwin are hesitant at first, but they eventually agree--after all, it's not every day that you get to be part of a food fight.
