Tintin and his trusty dog Snowy are back with another adventure in episode 5 of season 3 titled "Prisoners of the Sun (1)" of the popular animated series, The Adventures of Tintin. In this episode, Tintin embarks on a journey to rescue his friend Profesor Calculus who has been kidnapped by the Inca tribe.
Tintin, along with his friends Captain Haddock and the Thomson and Thompson detectives, travel to Peru to investigate the disappearance of Professor Calculus. After gathering a few clues, they find themselves in the middle of a jungle where they meet the Inca tribe who have been protecting the mummified bodies of their ancestors for centuries.
The Inca tribe has become increasingly worried about a solar eclipse that is due to occur soon. According to their beliefs, the eclipse is a sign of an impending disaster, and they believe that sacrificing a person to the sun god will appease the gods and prevent the disaster from happening. Unfortunately for Tintin and his friends, they become the chosen sacrifices for the Inca people.
The team is taken as prisoners to the Inca's temple where they are kept until the day of the eclipse. Tintin, being the resourceful and clever detective he is, starts to uncover a plot involving a rival tribe, who are attempting to discredit the Inca tribe by creating a false eclipse. The rival tribe is conspiring with outsiders who plan to hold for ransom the mummified body of the last Inca king, which they believe to be hidden within the temple.
As the eclipse approaches, Tintin and his friends find themselves in a dangerous and life-threatening situation, but Tintin comes up with a daring plan to escape with Professor Calculus and the mummified body of the Inca king, thereby saving the day.
