Teddy remains locked in the cage, where he discovers a carving on the floor that says "Teddy + Ilana." Suddenly he comes up with the notion that the previous occupant illiop of the cage might have been his father. Meanwhile Quellor arrives at the zoo and demands Tweeg's release. Quellor restores Tweeg's memory and gets the gold recipe from him.
