Paddington Gets a Raise, Bonhomme Paddington, Everything Comes to Those Who Wait is the eighth episode of season 1 of The Adventures of Paddington Bear. In this episode, Paddington decides that he needs to earn some extra money to buy a birthday present for his Aunt Lucy. He sets out to find a job and eventually lands one as a window cleaner.
Paddington takes his new job very seriously and tries his best to clean all the windows in the neighborhood. However, he soon realizes that cleaning windows is not as easy as it looks and struggles to reach some of the higher ones. But with some ingenuity and a little help from his friends, Paddington manages to finish the job and earn his first paycheck.
Meanwhile, Mr. Brown is busy preparing for the Bonhomme Carnival, a French-Canadian winter festival. He has ordered a special Bonhomme Paddington costume for Paddington to wear in the parade, but it hasn't arrived yet. Paddington is disappointed but is reassured by Mr. Brown that the costume will arrive in time.
As Paddington waits for his costume to arrive, he meets a young boy named Georges who is waiting for his father to return from a long trip. Paddington helps Georges pass the time by teaching him some English words and telling him stories about his adventures in London.
The day of the Bonhomme Carnival arrives and Paddington is disappointed to find out that his costume still hasn't arrived. However, he decides to participate in the parade anyway by wearing a makeshift Bonhomme Paddington costume made out of a coat, hat, and scarf.
As the parade goes on, Paddington's costume falls apart and he is left standing in the middle of the street in his underwear. However, his embarrassment is short-lived as the crowd applauds him for his bravery and resourcefulness.
In the end, everything works out well for Paddington. He receives a raise at his job as a window cleaner, his Aunt Lucy enjoys her birthday present, and he is crowned the hero of the Bonhomme Carnival parade. Paddington learns that everything comes to those who wait and that sometimes, the most important things in life cannot be bought with money.
