The A-Team season 4 episode 8, "Blood, Sweat and Cheers," sees the team operating in the world of professional wrestling. The episode opens with B.A. Baracus and Hannibal Smith attending a professional wrestling match at the request of their client, C.J. Macklin. Macklin is a former wrestler who owns a small wrestling promotion, but he's been getting competition from a larger, rival promotion, run by arrogant millionaire Max Fallone.
Unbeknownst to Macklin, Fallone is also a criminal who's using the wrestling promotion as a front for his illegal activities. When Macklin refuses to sell his promotion to Fallone, the rival promoter starts wreaking havoc. He tampered with a wrestler's drink just before a match which made him sick and Macklin's wrestler, King Kong Bundy, lost the match. On another occasion, Fallone's men attacked Macklin's wrestlers and trashed his gym. Macklin needs the A-Team's help to protect his business and take down Fallone.
To do that, the team decides to infiltrate the rival promotion as wrestlers. The task falls on Face and Murdock, who have to not only learn how to wrestle but also improvise a cover identity as wrestlers who are also newly minted detectives. Meanwhile, B.A. aids Macklin in training the other wrestlers, and Hannibal oversees the plan.
As Face and Murdock start their wrestling training, they realize that it's not as easy or as fake as they thought, and they suffer many injuries. They also discover that the wrestling world is filled with eccentric and colorful characters, some of whom can be allies or enemies. One wrestler, named The Barbarian, takes a liking to Face and becomes his friend. Another wrestler, named The Mask, is shady and seems to be working for Fallone.
Eventually, Face and Murdock debut at Fallone's promotion under the aliases Lightning and Thunder, respectively. They manage to impress the crowds and Fallone himself, who invites them to join his stable of wrestlers. However, the A-Team has a bigger plan - they want to expose Fallone's criminal activities in front of everyone. To do that, they stage a fake wrestling match in which Lightning and Thunder pretend to fight each other. Only, instead of the usual theatrics, they expose Fallone's illegal operation, and both teams engage in an all-out brawl that demolishes the arena.
The final scene shows Macklin's promotion thriving and The A-Team leaving town as always, leaving behind a happy client and a grateful group of wrestlers. "Blood, Sweat, and Cheers" is an entertaining and action-packed episode that showcases the team's versatility and cleverness in solving problems. It also highlights the colorful and sometimes bizarre world of professional wrestling, with some self-aware humor and references to pop culture.
