After a heartbreaking season finale, The 100 picks up right where it left off in season 2 episode 1, "The 48." The episode starts with Clarke, who was left alone after the rest of the Sky People were taken by the mysterious Mountain Men, trying to survive in the wilderness without her friends. Meanwhile, the rest of the group, including Bellamy, Octavia, and Finn, are being held captive and forced to undergo medical procedures against their will.
As Clarke struggles to find food and shelter, she is haunted by the memories of her loved ones and begins to question whether they are still alive. She also faces a new challenge when she encounters another survivor, a young girl named Madi, who has been on her own since the death wave hit.
Back at the Mountain Men's facility, the rest of the Sky People are being held in cells and subject to tests and experiments. Bellamy, in particular, is determined to find a way out and rescue his sister Octavia, who has been separated from the group.
As tensions rise among the captives, so too do tensions between the Mountain Men themselves. We learn that there are factions within their society, with some members pushing for more aggressive treatment of the Sky People and others advocating for a more diplomatic approach.
Eventually, Clarke and Bellamy meet up in a tense and emotional reunion and begin to hatch a plan to escape. They know that time is running out and they will have to act quickly if they want to save their friends and survive in this hostile world.
Overall, "The 48" is a thrilling and suspenseful start to season 2 of The 100, full of action, heartache, and surprises. It sets the stage for what promises to be an intense and emotional season, as our heroes face new challenges and enemies in their quest for survival and freedom.
